Australian Mel Plakanica, 31, found out she has two uteruses, four ovaries, two cervixes and three kidneys. The discovery resulted from a series of tests after she reported feeling severe abdominal pain during her period.
In an interview with a British newspaper mirrorThe Australian said it was “the worst stomach pain” he had ever felt in his entire life. While seeking emergency care, Placania had to undergo a series of tests. Initially, the results indicated the existence of a tumor in her body, which was also confirmed by a gynecologist.

Soon after, Mel took a second set of tests, which revealed she had five extra organs, and shared the results on social media. “The gist of the story is that you can’t always trust a test. Not everything is visible in one exam, otherwise everything would have been covered and the exam would not have taken so much time,” the woman said.
Mel Placania underwent multiple surgeries to remove extra organs, a uterus and two ovaries. In the removed uterus, an advanced case of endometriosis was identified, which caused the woman to feel intense pain. Both cervixes were unified and the additional kidney was placed.
