The USA team roster for the next event has been officially announced Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations (MXONE), which will take place in early October in the UK. After confirming Chase Sexton and Aaron Plessinger as the riders for the 450cc spots earlier this week, the third and final rider (250F) was finally revealed today: Chance Hymas. The Idaho native, who finished fourth in the 250 class of the 2024 AMA Pro Motocross Championship, will make his MXONE debut in the United Kingdom alongside Red Bull KTM teammates Sexton and Plessinger. PICKERINGTON, Ohio – A trio of top-level motocross riders will represent the United States at the 2024 Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) Motocross of Nations, to be held October 4-6 at Matterley Basin, Winchester, United Kingdom.

The United States team will be led by 2024 Pro Motocross 450 and 2023 AMA Supercross 450SX champion Chase Sexton, who will be joined by AMA Supercross competitors Aaron Plessinger and Chance Hymas during the three-day event.

“This team’s shared mission is to put the United States back on top of the podium on the world stage and we will work hard to achieve this goal,” said Mike Pelletier, AMA Competition Director. “We have brought together three exceptional drivers who are eager to represent their country. I can’t wait to see what we achieve as a team this year.”

Sexton, who helped the United States win the Motocross of Nations title in 2022, will take on the role of Team USA captain this year and compete in the MXGP class.

“There is no greater honor than having the opportunity to show your true patriotism on the world stage and represent your country abroad,” Sexton said. “I have had the opportunity to be part of a winning U.S. team before, and there is no better feeling than standing on top of the podium and waving the red, white and blue flag. I am fortunate to have that opportunity again this year with two great teammates.”

“I couldn’t ask for a more patriotic teammate than Aaron, who I know will give his best as he has all season,” Sexton added. “Chance, I know that well, and he has shown great pace throughout the season. I’m looking forward to building a relationship with the boys in a few weeks and fighting for top spot in the UK.

Plessinger returns to the Motocross of Nations for the second consecutive year and will be looking for glory in the Open class.

“Boy, I love America! I’m so happy to be asked to be a part of Team USA again. Last year was bittersweet for me. Bitter because we didn’t win, but sweet because I got to show off my full American spirit,” Plessinger said.

“This year, I want liberation and I want it to be sweet,” Plessinger said. “I’ll be representing my country on the world stage with my partner Chase, which is incredible. And I’m looking forward to getting to know Chance more and hopefully some of my American spirit will rub off on him. C’mon, USA!”

At just 19 years old, Hymas is the youngest member of the team, but the significance of the event is not lost on the young motocross star. Hymas will compete for the United States in the MX2 class.

“It’s an honor to be selected to represent Team USA this year. It’s a dream I’ve had ever since I can remember racing in the Motocross of Nations,” said Hymas. “It means a lot to have the support of Team Honda HRC and the AMA. I can’t thank Mike Pelletier enough for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to represent my country against the best in the world!”

The United States will once again be led by motocross legend and team manager, Roger DeCoster, who competed on six victorious FIM Motocross of Nations teams during the 1960s and ’70s. Since his retirement, DeCoster has remained an integral part of the sport as team manager for several AMA Supercross and Pro Motocross teams. DeCoster led the United States to 21 FIM Motocross of Nations victories.

“I am pleased that we can feature another strong contingent of riders at this year’s Motocross of Nations. All three drivers immediately embraced the opportunity to represent their country and fly the red, white and blue Team USA flag in the United Kingdom,” said DeCoster. “Chase, Aaron and Chance have all had extremely strong motocross seasons this year and have earned their spots on the team.

“I want to thank KTM for always supporting the efforts of Honda and Des Nations for answering the call and showing unwavering support for Chance’s first selection as part of the team,” DeCoster added. “Representing your country on the international stage truly is and always should be the greatest honor, and I have the utmost respect for any driver and team that accepts the challenge. With this group of three highly patriotic and talented drivers, I have great expectations that we will fly the American flag atop the podium this year.”
