The group of Democrats and some Republicans working on that plan have “finished writing the text of the infrastructure bill,” Schumer told the upper house, which met extravagantly over the weekend.
“I think the Senate will be able to process the amendments and pass this legislation in the next few days,” he continued.
More than 2,000 pages of text, according to the US press, point to spending on tasks in the order of a trillion dollars and one of the pillars of Joe Biden’s mandate.
The Democratic president intends to renovate and build bridges, roads, pipelines and Internet networks.
Biden’s other big economic and social gamble is passing a $3.5 billion plan to invest in what he calls “human” infrastructure.
However, Democrats do not have a Republican voice to support the plan, which provides massive funding for the education system, families, the environment, and health care.
