According to Bloomberg rankings, Elon Musk is the world’s richest person as selected by Forbes, with an estimated net worth of US$ 273 billion. In addition to being the new owner of Twitter, he also owns space exploration company SpaceX and electric car maker Tesla.

The billionaire is the son of a South African and a Canadian mother and was born in Pretoria, South Africa. He moved to Canada at the age of 17 and currently resides in the USA at the age of 50.
Musk began his studies at Queen’s University College in Ontario, Canada, but halfway through his graduation, he moved to the University of Pennsylvania in the United States. The businessman has bachelor’s degrees in physics and economics and was a naturalized American in addition to Canadian citizenship.

With his brother Kimbal Musk and his friend Greg Corey, he founded his first venture in 1995: Zip2, a company that offered a directory for finding online companies. The company was sold to Compaq in 1999.
Elon then created X.com, an online and email financial services company. A year after its creation, the company merged with Confinity, with a money transfer service called PayPal which became the business title. In 2002, eBay bought PayPal for $1.5 billion in stock.
Musk launched his most ambitious company, SpaceX, in 2002. The company’s first rocket was launched only in 2008. In the year he makes electric car maker Tesla, which is valued at more than $1 trillion today, according to G1.
