Archaeologists have found a ring of prehistoric shafts, dug thousands of many years ago close to Stonehenge.
Fieldwork has exposed proof of a 1.2 mile (2km) wide circle of substantial shafts measuring far more than 10m in diameter and 5m in depth.
They surround the historical settlement of Durrington Walls, two miles (3km) from Stonehenge.
Tests suggest the floor functions are Neolithic and have been excavated a lot more than 4,500 several years back.
Specialists feel the 20 or a lot more shafts may possibly have served as a boundary to a sacred spot connected to the henge.
A staff of academics from the universities of St Andrews, Birmingham, Warwick, Glasgow and the College of Wales Trinity Saint David worked on the job.
