Sony has apologized for the chaos caused by the pre-order of the PlayStation 5 this week.
“Let’s be honest: pre-orders for the PS5 could have been much smoother,” Sony said in a tweet on its official PlayStation account. “We really apologize for that.
“In the next few days, we will release more PS5 consoles for pre-order – retailers will share more details.
“And more PS5s will be available by the end of the year.”

Sony caught fire this Wednesday night UK time – after pre-orders for the PS5 – before their official announcement.
In august Sony said it would not be surprised by the pre-order of the PS5. “I think it’s safe to say, we’ll let you know when the pre-order will happen,” said Eric Lampell, head of marketing for PlayStation Worldwide.
“It’s not going to happen with a minute’s notice. We’ll let you know at some point. When you can order the PS5, please don’t feel like you have to run and line up until you get the authorities.” Have to do. ” Notice how it will work. “
But soon after Sony’s PS5 showcase ended, pre-orders opened at select retailers, and fans scattered their money down the aisle. Demand caused a stir Eurogamer reported earlier today: “As retailer websites floated under the pressure of the online crowd, the winners took to social media to celebrate, while the losers fled, hoping for good luck in the coming weeks.
“Now, just a few days later, the next step in the console pre-order dance has taken place: canceled pre-orders, warnings to the retailer about the launch day, and scalpers laughing all the way to the bank.”
Sony’s tweet suggests that stores will make more PS5s available for pre-order next week, hoping to grab one of the consoles they need. But will there be enough stock to cut the circle?
The PS5 launches on November 12, 2020.
