The best performance of the session on the index came from shares of Helius Limited (ASX:), which rose 8.61%, corresponding to 0.12 points, to trade at 1.45 at the close of operations. Meanwhile, St. Barbara Limited (ASX:) added 4.35%, or 0.01 points, to end the day at 0.24, and Woodside Energy Limited (ASX:), which advanced 2.69%, or 0.73 points, to close operations at 27.82.

AUD/USD was up 0.16% at 0.66, while AUD/JPY was up 0.25% at 104.07.
In turn, the dollar futures index rose 0.35% to 104.83.
