Investing.com – India shares fell after the close on Thursday, as shares led by losses in the , and , and sectors.

At the close on NSE, the index fell 0.89% to hit a new 1-month low, while the index fell 0.61%.

The best performance of the session on the index came from stocks infosys (NS:), which rose 2.50%, corresponding to 48.00 points, to end the session at 1,968.10. Meanwhile, shares of Tech Mahindra Ltd. (NS:) added 2.33%, or 38.70 points, to end the day at 1,699.00, and Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (NS:), which advanced 1.21%, or 3.95 points, ended trading at 331.15.

Whose shares had the worst performance of the session? Bajaj Auto Ltd. (NS:), which fell 12.89% or 1,497.50 points, with its shares trading at 10,119.45. Shriram Finance Limited (NS:) fell 3.89% or 131.80 points to close at 3,258.60 and to shelter India Ltd (NS:) fell 3.39% or 83.55 points to 2,378.70.

The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 index were Tech Mahindra Ltd (BO:) whose shares rose 2.95% to 1,709.00, Infosys (BO:) rose 2.77% to 1,973.05, and Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. ( BO:), which closed 1.30% higher at 331.35.

The worst performer was Nestle India Ltd (BO:), which fell 3.45% to 2,377.30 in late trade. Next, Mahindra & Mahindra (BO:), which declined by 3.34% to close at 2,963.00, and finally, UltraTech Cement (BO:), which declined by 2.45% to close at 11,047.

The Nifty 50 index, which measures the implied volatility of options, rose 2.87% to 13.43.

Gold futures for December delivery rose 0.41%, or $11.00, at $2,702.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere, crude for delivery in November rose 0.11% or 0.08 to trade at $70.47 a barrel, while Brent crude futures for delivery in December rose 0.12% or 0.09 to trade at $74.31 a barrel.

USD/INR rose 0.03% to 84.07, while EUR/INR rose 0.03% to 91.31.

In turn, the dollar futures index rose 0.05% to 103.34.
