Over 1 million units of the PlayStation 5 console have already been sold in the UK.
Figures shared by gfk show that the number was reached in August and that it took 39 weeks for Sony’s latest consoles to surpass this figure, which represents a new record.
Like Japan, it took a short time for the PS5 to cross the first million units sold in the UK. In this case, the difference is 3 weeks. According to Chris Dring of GI.biz, this was made possible by Sony’s efforts to build stock over the summer.
As they say, PS5 sales in July were lower than PS4 sales on their respective routes, but things changed in August.
With this, the PS5 achieved more sales momentum than the previous console.
In August, PS5 surpassed 1m sales in the UK. It did 3 weeks faster than PS4. As of July, the PS4 was running ahead of the PS5, so there was a considerable influx of stock over the summer.
