Plane catches fire during emergency landing in Las Vegas (USA)

Video circulated on social media showed flames engulfing the underside of a Frontier Airlines plane during an emergency landing at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas, United States. After the panic, the crew and passengers came out safely and there are no reports of injuries.


“Frontier Flight 1326 had a difficult landing,” an airport spokesperson confirmed to CBS News. He said firefighters responded immediately after landing and there were no injuries.




A spokesperson for Frontier told CBS that the pilots detected smoke in the cabin and declared an emergency.


“The aircraft landed safely, and all passengers and crew evacuated via stairs. No injuries were reported and passengers were taken to the terminal by bus”, he said, describing the cause of the incident. Investigation is being done.


In videos circulated on social media, smoke and flames can be seen beneath the plane, the Airbus 321, and immediate action by emergency services. Soon after landing, a fire department truck can be seen extinguishing the fire.


According to the American press, Frontier Flight 1326 was carrying 190 people, including passengers and crew.


The plane departed from San Diego, California for Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday (5). Harry Reid International Airport, where the emergency landing occurred, was the final destination of the flight, NBC News reported this Sunday, June 6. According to the American network, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is also investigating the cause of the incident.
