The film tells the story of Priscilla Duke, a multi-star cast from Para, a black woman who turns music into an instrument of social change. Inspiration for the work comes from the rumbling sound of tidal noise, created from lyrical-musical inspiration by Priscilla Duque, infused with images of daily life by the riverbank through the eyes of Marcos Korra, who directed, produced and edited signs on. The film is a hybrid creation of audio-visual poetry, created from a symbiosis of the eyes of these two black northerners, children of the Ikorasi district, communicators and peripherals, who work to create content on the same region, Amazon.
This was not the first international festival in which the work was selected, a video poem translated into English with the title “Carimbo: Resistance Culture” was also part of the official selection One Earth Awards 2022 (India); First-time Filmmakers Season 2022 Selections and Lift-off Filmmakers Season 2022 Selections (both from England), in addition to appearances at national and regional festivals.
In addition to “Carimbo: Route of Life”, Priscilla and Marcos released the video clip “Flor de Murure” (Aldir Blanc Law – Music Category/Secult-PA). The music video was awarded an Honorable Mention at the 29th edition of the Mix Brasil Festival – Cultura da Diversidade (SP) in 2021. It has already been screened at more than 15 national festivals and 5 international festivals, including in-person screenings.
