After nearly two years in Europe and consequently, in England, IBJJF will return to the English capital on 9 and 10 July, when the London Open of Jiu-Jitsu – Ge & No-Gi – will take place. The competition usually brings together the best teams and academies in the United Kingdom, and among them will be “The Gauntlet Fight Academy”, led by Brazilian black belt Neto Nunes.
The team – linked to Checkmate – is growing year after year, and for the London Open 2022, around 30 athletes are expected to be in action. Encouraged by the revival of gentle art in the country, Neto designed the tournament, which would feature GI and no-GI brawls.
– The next event that we will enter with full force that we are focused on is the London Open in July. It will mark the return of IBJJF to England after almost two years, so everyone is looking forward to it. We will enter with 20 to 30 contestants, and I am expecting a very good result.
