In Mauricio Pochettino’s debut, the United States beat Panama in a friendly in Texas

This Saturday, at Q2 Stadium in Austin (Texas) United States of America They defeated Panama 2–0 in a FIFA friendly match. The game marked the debut of veteran Argentinian coach Mauricio Pochettino as head of the U.S. team. Younis Musah and Pepi scored the home team’s goals.

This was one of two friendlies that the United States would play during this FIFA date period. Pochettino’s team will return to the field to face Mexico next Tuesday (15), at 11:30 pm (Brasilia time), at the Estadio Acron in the Mexican city of Zapopan.

On the same day at 8:30 pm, Panama will face Canada at BMO Field in Toronto, Canada.

The United States had gone four matches without a win and, in that span, lost to Panama, Uruguay and Canada, as well as a draw against New Zealand. In this way, Pochettino starts off on the right foot and looks to begin a run of good results.

The United States scored just 3 minutes into the second half. In a well-armed attack from the left, Pulisic received the ball inside the penalty area and crossed for Musah, free from marking, to complete the ball into the back of the goal.
