Facebook, as well as its sister social media platforms WhatsApp and Instagram, faced major disruptions across the world on Wednesday.

Nick Tesfaye, who lives in the Moroccan city of Meknes, told the site that Facebook is experiencing a “complete blackout.”
Facebook’s social media platforms including WhatsApp and Instagram suffered heavy losses across the world on Wednesday.
Reports of the outage came after a major Internet blackout on Tuesday that shut down hundreds of websites around the world.
The blackout, which was attributed to an unidentified IT customer, blocked millions of people from accessing sites such as Amazon, Spotify and Netflix, as well as the BBC, the UK government and the White House.
The company said the cause was a software bug that arose when a customer of Fastly – the US cloud computing company responsible for the problems – changed its settings.
It was not immediately clear whether Facebook’s outage on Wednesday was related to the larger outage.
