Language platform Duolingo announced the launch of its first restaurant this Tuesday (10). With takeaway concept (order pick-up only), Duo Ki Takaria There will be a taco menu inspired by Mexico City. The space will open in June this year in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (USA).

In addition to sampling a menu signed by Chef Marcela Ogrodnik, customers will have the chance to earn discounts on their meals by participating in a small Spanish language challenge developed by Duolingo. This is a single speech-based question pulled directly from the app. Rewards can be 10% to 20% of the order value, a free taco or chips, among other benefits.
“Spanish is the most popular language on Duolingo in America. As a Pittsburgh company, we wanted to give some love back to the city. Duo Ki TakariaOur goal is to show that anyone can speak a new language, and that learning something new can be fun and rewarding”, explains Analizia Martins, marketing director of Duolingo in Brazil.
