Australia Post: Dirty parcel trend exposed

A dirty practice in Australia putting up parcel collection lockers has left Australians fuming.

The dirty deed was exposed by a resident who noticed a growing pile of empty coffee cups next to a cupboard at Crown Square in Waterloo, south of Sydney.

He posted a photo on social media of discarded cups neatly stacked on top of a broken wooden panel, with even more trash stuffed inside the hole.

“Council or management of Crown Square. Can you install a dustbin or at least send a cleaner?” the resident wrote.

‘Every day the “mountain of coffee cups” gets bigger.’

The post angered local residents, with some saying the council should send guards to man the shelves and fine anyone who dumps rubbish there.

“The worst part is that there is a dustbin about 20 metres across the road. It will be difficult to use your legs,” one of them said.

Another commented that Australians should adopt a culture like Japan, where people take their rubbish home if there are no bins nearby.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted the City of Sydney and Australia Post for comment.
