New Delhi. Apple has announced a new ‘Self Service Repair’ program that allows users to repair through a new online store dedicated to parts and devices. The iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 lineup is available first and will soon be rolling out to Mac computers with M1 chips. Self-service repair will be available in the US in early 2022.

what is the company

“Greater access to genuine Apple parts gives our customers even more options when they need repairs,” Apple Chief Operating Officer Jeff Williams said in a statement. Customers connect with over 5,000 Apple Authorized Service Providers (AASPs) and 2,800 independent repair providers who have access to these parts, equipment and manuals.

Display, battery and camera will be able to fix

The initial phase of the program will focus on the most serviced modules such as the iPhone display, battery and camera. Additional repair capacity will be available at the end of next year. To make sure customers can repair safely, it is important that they review the repair manual first. A customer will then place an order for original Apple tools and devices using the Apple Self Service Repair online store.

After repairs, customers who return their used parts for recycling will receive credit for their purchases. The new store will offer more than 200 individual parts and tools, allowing customers to complete the most common repairs on the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13.
