Amazon Prime Video inks a deal with Globo to broadcast 36 Copa do Brasil games

The streaming platform will showcase 30 exclusive matches and 6 shared doubles from the semi-finals

Amazon’s streaming service, Prime Video, announced on Wednesday (15) that it will broadcast 36 matches of the Copa do Brasil 2022. Sublicense agreement was signed with Globo. According to the company, anyone who subscribes to the platform will have access to 36 games from the competition, starting February 23, at no additional cost to customers.

Thirty matches, between the first leg and the quarter-finals, will be exclusive to Customer Service. There will also be six non-exclusive matches between the semi-finals and the final.

“The Copa do Brasil 2022 is a milestone for Prime Video, becoming the first live football event that the company will broadcast exclusively in the country. This is a great way to expand and diversify the content offered to Prime members. This is an important step. We are very pleased and excited to offer this broadcast to fans,” said Prime Video Brasil Country Manager Joo Ferraz de Mesquita.

The streaming platform already offers premiere channels to subscribers for an additional fee.

The Copa do Brasil broadcast is part of other investments in live sports broadcast on Prime Video globally, including the Ligue 1 (French Championship) and Roland-Garros tournaments in France, the Premier League in the UK, the US Open, ATP tennis and the WTA Tour. . Autumn Nations Series rugby in the UK and Ireland; Champions League in Germany and Italy, Thursday Night Football in USA, New Zealand Cricket in India, among others.

The Brazil Cup Games will be available to customers on smart TVs, mobile devices, Fire TV, Fire TV Stick, Fire tablets, Apple TVs and via online transmission.
