Adidas conquers new territory

In early December, Adidas Originals confirmed a collaboration with Bored Ape Yacht Club, NFT Comics Punks Comic and crypto investor and NFT collector Gumney. In addition, Adidas Originals has changed its Twitter profile picture to a bored ape cartoon with Adidas Originals clothing, including the Adidas Originals logo, the Punks comic logo, and the Gmoney iconography.

The tweet from the announcement also included a link to the Adidas website and a clip with the avatars. Adidas’s Metaverse tab on the website does not yet provide further information about Adidas’s Metaverse activities or plans. Interested parties can register for exclusive news with their email address and the company uses a QR code to redirect website visitors to its CONFIRMED app for more information, where Adidas can provide more information about its project and its partner partners. Adidas’ partner, Bored App Yacht Club, is, as the sporting goods maker writes, “a collection of 10,000 Bored App NFTs on the Ethereum blockchain that are ubiquitous in popular culture. Each Bored App NFT owner gives access to one.” A one time exclusive club with benefits like merch drops and events.” Adidas Originals joins Bored Ape Yacht Club with the first NFT, ep number 8774. This monkey avatar is the Indigo Heart, as Adidas writes, “a rebellious optimist who sees the world through heart-shaped glasses”. According to NFT marketplace OpenC, Adidas bought #8774 for 46 Ether in September. As reported by the Altcoin Buzz portal, BAYC is by far the second most popular collection on OpenSea with a total value of 243,190 Ether.
Adidas writes of Gamoni, “renowned NFT culture influencer, knowledge broker and community leader” “known for its famous monkey cryptopunk with the orange bean”. “As a true NFT thought leader and crypto visionary who introduced the world to the phenomenon of digital status symbols,” he is “a respected member of the original Fortune NFTY 50.” It is thanks to him that the world of NFTs is now known to a wider audience.
