The week dedicated to India features a series of cultural events; check the schedule

Activities take place in various locations, such as the Centro Cultural Santo Amaro, the Universidade Federal do ABC and the Casa Museu Emma Klabin.

  • August 12: India Fest at UFABC

Federal University of the ABC (UFABC) will host “India Fest”, a cultural festival that will celebrate traditional Indian music, dance, cuisine and crafts.

Apart from the cultural presentations, SVCC Director Jyoti Kiran Shukla will deliver a lecture on the Indian economy and its global impact, providing a comprehensive overview of India’s influence on the world stage.

  • August 16: Triveni on India Day at Casa Museu Emma Klabin

Emma Klabin House Museum It will be a platform for the confluence of three classical Indian art forms. The event will feature a sitar performance by Fabio Kidesh, as well as on-the-spot creations by Brazilian artist Caio Santos set to the tunes of Indian classical music. Completing the artistic fusion will be an Odissi dance performance by Adriana Zamarim.

Corners of India: Indian Book Exhibition

Exhibitions of Indian books will be held at various locations throughout the week with the aim of promoting Indian literature and culture in the local communities.

“India’s Corner” will be present at the Municipal Library of Piracicaba and the Santo Amaro Cultural Centre (CCSA), providing the public with an opportunity to explore India’s rich literary tradition.
