Spain is experiencing one of the hottest pre-summer heat waves in at least 20 years.
According to information from the country’s national meteorological agency, AEMET, in the valley of the Guadalquivir River, in Seville, and in the neighboring city of Cordoba, last Saturday (11) the temperature reached 40ºC.
“We are experiencing unusually high temperatures for June,” said Amet spokesman Ruben Del Campo.
According to the agency, the heat wave across much of the country is the result of a generalized stability that accompanies very warm air coming from North Africa.
On this Sunday (12), the temperature reached 43ºC in Andujar, the cities of the south of the country, and 42ºC in Cordoba and Carmona.
Also, according to AEMT, heatwave will continue till next Thursday (15).
